GenØk and NISIR/ Zambia sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The Norwegian Institute of Gene Ecology and The National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (Zambia) enter into a five-year co-operation.
A Memorandum of Understanding between the institutes was signed during the visit of the Executive Director Mwananyanda Mbikusita Lewanika and the Board Chairman Henry Medza Mwenda to Tromsø. It’s objectives include training and education of Zambian scientists at Master and PhD levels, exchange of researchers between the two institutes, as well as taking measures towards the establishment of Gene Ecology Institute of Southern Africa (GEISA) as a member of the Gateways institute network. The memorandum’s objectives are an important step towards the implementation of the Gateways Program in Africa.
