The course is designed to provide high-level policy makers, regulators, scientists and NGOs/civil society from developing countries with knowledge and training in crucial GE/GMO issues. The 2-week course offers biosafety capacity building within a holistic framework through lectures, laboratory demonstrations, group work, case studies, and discussions.
40 sponsorships are available to participants from Official Development Assistance countries (ODA-countries). The sponsorship covers curricular materials, travel, accommodation and meals. In addition there are 20 non-sponsored places available for participants with financial support from other sources.
GenØk is responsible for the planning and execution of the course. TheUniversity of Tromsø, NZIGE, TWN and a pool of internationally recognised lecturers/resource persons are invited to contribute to the teaching staff.
